Peter Bannan Photographer

Peter Bannan is an Indonesia based director and photographer. After completing a Fine Arts degree in European Cinema at Canterbury University (New Zealand), he began a career directing music videos, short films and TV documentaries, alongside exhibiting personal photography as well as commercial fashion photography.

Founded in 1991, Bannan Films was a studio producing both photography and film, shooting for many fashion designers, catalogues and magazines, both nationally and internationally. The established Auckland based film company operated for twelve years and gained numerous international projects including a Sony campaign shot in Sydney being featured in ‘Shots’.

Peter relocated to Asia in 2009 and continues to work as Director, DP, and Photographer. Recently he was Editor in Chief/Creative Director of the world’s first issue of FashionTV Magazine, as well as creative directing the launch Asia issue of New York based Surface Magazine. Peter's interest and expertise lie in creating characters, story telling, working with people, subtle humor, food, fashion, and directing children, often Directing, DP, and Photography on his projects.
