Baris Murat Yağcı was born in Alacatı, Izmir on the 21st January. He studied at Izmir Private Turkish college in Izmir. He finished his high school in Istanbul and continues to study at Bahçesehir University in Istanbul, where he currently lives.

He has played basketball professionally for 10 years. In a professional capacity he gives physical education and life coach lessons, at the same time he is a model and actor. He never imagined as a child to become an actor or model, thus concentrating on the sport side of things he was able to take the first steps to becoming a great sportsman. He was involved in many different types of sport: volleyball, athletics, table tenis and swimming; his greatest pleasure was however in basketball. He began playing basketball in Izmir for Izmir Spor.

An offer during the 2002-2003 season from Efes Pilsen was a turning point in his life. After he played for many basketball clubs and in the Bahcesehir University team had many successes both at home and abroad.

Having played basketball for 10 years he had to quit playing due to an injury to his Achilles Tendon four years previously. After he began modelling and having been chosen “Best Photo Model” in the Best Model of Turkey competition, he slowly became more and more recognised. He has participated in many live television programmes together with many reports for magazines and newspapers, and has sucessfully appeared in fashion shows and photo shoots. Currently he is training as an actor and continues to give physical education lessons.

İzmir'de doğdu. İzmir Özel Türk Koleji'nde okudu. Voleybol, atletizm, masa tenisi, yüzme gibi birçok spor branşı ile ilgilendi ancak en büyük hazzı basketboldan aldığı için 1999 yılında İzmir Spor'da basketbola başladı. Ardından İstanbul'a gelerek lise eğitimine Şehremini Lisesi'nde devam etti. Ardından Bahçeşehir Üniversitesi'nde lisans eğitimi aldı.

2002 - 2003 sezonunda Efes Pilsen Spor Kulübü'nden gelen teklif hayatının dönüm noktası oldu. Daha sonra birçok kulüpte basketbol oynadı ve Bahçeşehir Üniversitesi'nin takımında da oynarak yurtdışında önemli başarılar elde etti.

10 yıl profesyonel olarak basketbol oynadıktan sonra 2009 yılında geçirdiği sakatlık sonucu bırakmak zorunda kaldı. Ardından modellik yapmaya başladı.

Best Model of Turkey yarışmasında "Best Fotomodel" seçildi. Halen oyunculuk eğitimi almaya devam eden ve bu aralıkta çeşitli yapımlarda yer alan Barış Murat Yağcı, oyunculuk dışında fitness eğitmenliği yapmaya da devam ediyor.
