Massachusetts › Springfield Daniel Minicucci, who has been a professional photographer for more than 20 years, founded Daniel Minicucci Photography. Throughout his career, Daniel has become well versed in juggling the logistics of travel and photography in remote and diverse locations. His experiences have taken him from the rainforests of Central America to the frigid air of the sub-arctic to the commercial studios of Brooks Brothers. Daniel’s career has been a unique combination of both commercial success and recognized outdoor and natural photography. His commercial career has seen him work with such A-list clients as Brooks Brothers, Women’s Wear Daily (WWD), Kodak and Spalding. In addition, his passion for natural photography has not gone unnoticed as he has had work featured in such noted publications as National Geographic, Outdoor Life and Time Magazine. Daniel’s work truly runs the gamut and his approach to photography is as flexible and light as his personality. The philosophy behind the natural history images is simple, to create images that go beyond simple historical documentation by evoking emotion about the beauty of nature. The goal of these images is to stir something in the viewer and allow them to see the beauty of our planet in a new and inspiring light. Daniel’s commercial work follows the same simple principal, which is to go beyond simple documentation and find a new perspective to portray a product in. Balancing the discipline of commercial advertising photography with the freedom and flexibility of natural history photography has allowed to Daniel to provide his customers with a holistic approach to photography, which can accommodate any client project. Natural PhotographyAmong the most treasured experiences of Daniel’s career is his success as an outdoor photographer. From 1994-96 he served as the official photographer for the Jason Project (an educational research project founded by Dr. Robert Ballard discoverer of the Titanic. Serving as Dr. Ballard’s photographer proved to be rewarding and was fundamental in shaping Daniel’s vision the Jason project took him around the Globe. Many sponsors of the Jason Project have used Daniel’s photographs for exhibition purposes including National Geographic, Kodak, NASA and EDS. Several prestigious magazines and calendars have also used images from this project, including the National Audubon Society and Outdoor Life magazine. Aside from being exhibited in galleries throughout New England, Daniel’s most recent honor was the University of Connecticut commissioning 20 prints for permanent installation. Exhibition History
